While I was out posting a Madeit order this morning I happened to trip, fall, hop up all dizzy and disoriented, look around and find myself in an op shop. Oh, the funny things that happen! Seems it was my destiny to find myself amongst the dusty and discarded because my quest for the perfect winter coat has finally come to a close. Right length, check. Great colour, check. 100% wool, check. Funky cut, check. Yep, all the boxes ticked. Then a sweet little surprise when I got home and read the label..."MADE IN AUSTRALIA and PROUD OF IT" Just like my buntyandsars goodies! But the happy story isn't yet complete. I ALSO lucked upon a beautiful (real) sheepskin number, a very swanky black beaded leather 80's bolero, a tartan and woolly coat for my little girl when she gets a bit bigger and the complete Thomas the Tank illustrated story book including vintage watercolour drawings and an old fashioned cover for the boy in my house! To cap it off, this all cost a third of what I'd set aside for my "perfect" coat.
Now, if only I'd had one for the chilly start in Daylesford on Staurday morning... Not to worry though, it soon warmed up in the "Hall Town" (as my son refers to it). Heaters on, doors closed and plenty of yummy hot chocolate made for a very cosy spot on an icy Daylesford day. Going to the market always gets me super enthused about buntyandsars. All the positive feedback and connecting with like minds is nothing short of inspiring. I come away from each market with a list of new ideas as long as my arm. Now to find the time to pursue them...? Not to mention, which ideas to follow up?? A childrens book? A new colouring/activity book? A new range of cards or two? I'll keep you all posted about which direction I head in.
(have a peep at the new pencil cases)
Any local courier readers out there? It was lovely to read about Ali Bant over my cup of tea and toast this morning. The Sugar and Spice Childrens Market was great a couple of weeks ago and really worth the drive to Woodend for a spot of shopping. Looking forward to a Ballarat version.
I'm off to list some more things on Madeit now so hop over there for a look, just follow the link on the top left.
